Zakatul Fitr (Rice Distribution) You can now distribute rice in Sri Lanka for just ten New Zealand dollars or equivalent per person. In 2007 Zakatul Fitr dry rice was distributed to 485 families consisting of Orphans, widows, destitutes and poor. In 2008, Fitrana was distributed to 495 families in Nintavur, Zakatpuram and Addappalam. In 2009, Fitra Rice was distributed to 1,185 deserving families. This will be continued every year and the Zakatul Fitr will be distributed before Eidul Fitr prayers. |
